The babies were at the crib, while I was strapped to one of them to my back. Ha! All was beginning to fall into place, however we were nowhere near done. For furnishing the space it would be an enormous undertaking both in both time and funds. Also, I had go to my favorite stores. My three sons and me were looking for the hidden treasures at estate sales to ensure that my spending was under control. The schedule we had for the week that consisted of spending Thursday through Saturday walking around estate and garage sales, shopping for new and used items. I then spent the remainder of the week sanding and painting the driveway. It looked a bit similar to this... Here's where my love for restoring antique furniture started. After our home was finished, I didn't want to put it down! On the streets I was able to rent a tiny area and then sold a few objects. There were numerous pieces that I did not know what to do and I outgrew my space. There were open houses at my house where over 1 000 people would come through in one weekend, and buy anything they saw on the ground floor. Growing Days was created in this home. Growing Days was more than an extremely successful company, it was as well my family. I was balancing the demands of having starting a new venture and be a mommy too. Growing Days fit perfectly. My precious Nora was born in 2013, which was our 4th child. I loved where my business was taking me, but I felt like I needed to take a breather. I decided to slow down and spend some time in my home with my kids. This was just the thing I needed. After a couple of months, the phone began to ring. I was getting requests from people requesting to help with their home improvement and design of interiors. Many of the people calling me came from people who attended one of the furniture open house events. In the following time, I took on clients according to my schedule. In no time, I was managing multiple accounts, as well as a house renovations business. It would have probably amused me if I had told you that this would become the basis of the DIY Network tv series. As I look back on this situation, I find myself laughing.
